Head Teachers are no longer allowed to grant Leave of Absence for the purpose of a family holiday during term time. Absence from school will only be granted in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Head Teacher.
Although we understand that holidays during term time may cost less money, they are still against the law. Term time holidays are an increasingly significant issue and the government is advising schools to take serious action. Amendments have been made to the 2006 regulations in the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013, which can be found at:

Parents should apply for leave of absence and have this authorised at least 4 weeks prior to making any arrangements to avoid any disappointment. Requests will not be authorised retrospectively.
Unauthorised leave of absences will be recorded on your child’s record and these will be picked up by our Educational Welfare Officer and a fine may be issued in line with the above guidelines.
Guidance on how to make your request for exceptional leave of absence is available from the school office.
